I believe that this beautiful and fascinating specimen is part of the superstructure (aka "process") of a very large vertebrate. The distinctive surface configuration is something I have seen in other vertebrate specimens. The polished interior has an unusual lovely cream coloration with scattered red and blue agate-filled cavities

The shaping is a "saddle" shape, where the center is lower than the ends (long side) and the sides (short side) are lower than the center. The polished face is 4" x 2" at maximum with a depth of 3-1/2". Weight is 2-1/2 lb.
